Could you cut your household expenditure by 1% without major problems? I could and I think you could too, so why do the Labour party and the BBC propound the narrative that there is so little wastage in public spending and thus a £7 billion cut is so serious. Total UK public spending is around £700 billion a year, so the 'slashing' Tory cuts amount to some 1% of expenditure.
