Complaint type: BBC News

Location: England

What is your complaint about: BBC News Online

Address of the page: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-middle-east-15591860

Complaint category: Factual Error or Inaccuracy

Complaint summary: Report still reporting untruths a week after the truth emerged

Full complaint: Your news website is still reporting that 'Israel boards protest boats taking medical aid to Gaza The Israeli navy has intercepted and boarded two boats which were trying to break the blockade of the Gaza Strip. The Canadian and Irish boats with 27 activists from the US and eight other countries on board had set sail from Turkey on Wednesday. They were carrying medical supplies for the coastal enclave. ' Are you not aware that a) inspection of the boats at Ashdod port showed no cargo was aboard - report here - http://www.ynetnews.com/articles/0,7340,L-4143893,00.html b) the boat's Canadian captain confirmed that no medical supplies were being carried when questionned before the boarding of the boat - http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=uOk8xUUDxyI

If the BBC's correspondent was not aware of this fact at the time of filing their original report, are they really unaware a week later? Why has the truth not been reported? Why have the BBC not even reported that the true position regarding the carrying of medical supplies is disputed?

The BBC has a journalistic responsibility to report facts without favour, by not updating the article with relevant information are you not failing in that responsibility?

SNAP BBC Complaints on Five Minutes for Israel

The more people who formally complain, the better. BBC tactic is to give publicity only when there are many complaints thus showing public interest and ignore individual complaints, no matter how accurate.

Bet we both receive the same form letter.
