The 'religion of peace' strike again and exhibit a worrying lack of historical knowledge

I hear that the lovely Muslim Brotherhood have been spreading peace, love and understanding again. A Muslim Brotherhood rally in Cairo at the Sunni world’s most prestigious center of 'learning' the al-Azhar Mosque turned into a call for genocide, with pledges to "one day kill all Jews". The chants included "Tel Aviv, Tel Aviv: Judgment Day has come" and passages from the Koran vowing that “one day "we shall kill all the Jews."

Please note that Tel Aviv is on the Israeli side of the 1948/1967 borders, so any calls to expell Jews form there shows the true intentions of those who prtend to want a return to 1967 borders. The return to 1967 borders is just the first step to the destruction of any Jewish state in the Middle East, something that too many Muslims just will not accept.

However the line of argument that most intrigued/disgusted me was when maps of the Old City of Jerusalem were didtibuted highlighting areas where "Zionists are aiming to change Jerusalem’s Muslim character." Interesting and lacking in historical knowledge as Jerusalem was a Jewish city long before Islam even existed as a religion/political dosctrine. King David established Jerusalmem as the capital of the united Kingdom of Israel in around 1000 BC. That nice Jewish lad Jesus was crucified there in around 30 AD CE. It was only in around 610 AD that Islam started to venerate Jerusalem.

The Jews had Jerusalem as their capital city long before the Christians and the Muslims. The Jews were there for a thousand years before there was any such religion as Christianity and far longer before the birth of Islam. Under Jordanian rule from 1948 to 1967, Jerusalem was barred to all Israelis and most Jews, Jewish holy sites were used as latrines and storerooms and the city was Islamified. Under Israeli rule since 1967, Jerusalem has been openned to all religions, the Islamic holy sites are freely accessible to Muslims and not controlled by the Jewish state. So for the Muslim Brotherhood to complain about Israel changing 'Jerusalem’s Muslim character' is at best disingenuous, at worst shows that for many Muslims the Middle East (and indeed the whole world) should be purged of Jews.
