Tax, tax, tax, tax the motorist

I read today that our wonderful Labour government are planning to sell the idea of road charging by persuading the gullible that we will be getting a congestion free drive. Yes, the government are planning on charging motorists £5 a trip to avoid congestion by driving in segregated lanes. Now the fact that this scheme is planned to start on the M25 amongst other motorways leads me to believe that the segregated lanes will not be new lanes (as for the M6 toll road) but will be lanes taken from the existing road. In other word motorists will be made to pay again to use a road they are already using and indeed paying to use via the myriad of taxes levied on the motorist.

Gordon Brown's Labour government, broke and needing to raise taxes wherever they can.
