If this is true is it not a little odd

According to the Prime Minister's Spokesman this morning "Asked if Northern Rock was discussed at Cabinet, the PMS replied that it was not."

Why would the UK Cabinet not discuss this matter, surely it is an important and fast moving subject. Maybe Gordon Brown's belief in Cabinet Government is as solid as Tony Blair's, maybe the real decisions about this matter are being taken elsewhere.
