Today is the last day that you are working for the state.

In the UK in 2011 it is estimated that on average the state takes 53% of GDP in taxes, so the average man is working from January the 1st to 30th May for the country and not for himself.

The whole year so far working for the state, how does that feel? Of course this is an average and there's an awful lot of people not working at all but let's not depress ourselves unduly!

And a lot of people who are "working" are not really working, excepting you and me of course, Mr. Goat !

I understand your point re the 53% but for reasons that I don't get the figure is 53% but Adam Smith Institute say the day is today!
